Targets range from individuals to entire countries. This is a universal problem, and will require a global solution.
Unfortunately, the more valuable a smartphone becomes to its user, the more valuable it becomes to an attacker. As the number of applications installed on mobile devices increases, so does the number of potential entry points for spyware attackers. Regulation must not look to regress our devices, but instead should encourage new security innovations.
Rather than dismantling a reliable line of defense, we should be looking for ways to build in additional mobile security measures.
Mobile devices present a unique challenge for organizations, as end users are hammered with misleading advertisements, confusing security messages, and apps with far greater permissions than necessary.
