Washington, D.C. – The Taxpayers Protection Alliance Foundation (TPAF) is pleased to announce its latest initiative: The App Security Project. This new project will inform the American people about the government’s role in regulating the many connected devices that millions of Americans depend on every day.
In response to the launch, TPAF Executive Director, Patrick Hedger, offered the following comment:
“As we’ve seen a rise in cybersecurity threats to major companies throughout the world over the past year, the App Security Project is a critical piece in protecting American consumers and their businesses.
“We’ve officially launched our website to educate the American people about what it means if Congress were to pass legislation that cracks open the secure software ecosystems of tech companies consumers use daily.
“We already have a cybersecurity worker shortage in this country, yet many current tech policy and antitrust proposals risk making us even weaker against bad actors online, near and abroad.
“When consumers download an app to devices that contain their most sensitive information, it’s important that they know what they are downloading is free of malware.”
